The Aeration Man serves homeowners in four North Alabama cities: Huntsville, Madison, Decatur and Hartselle. All four sit in or on the edge of the Tennessee Valley, where much of the ground is red clay that packs down hard. But the lawns aren't the same from town to town, so each city has its own page.

Which cities do you serve?

Is the aeration schedule different in each city?
No. It depends on your grass. Fescue gets aerated and overseeded late August to mid October. Bermuda and Zoysia get aerated mid/late April through August.
Why does North Alabama soil compact so badly?
Much of the Tennessee Valley is red clay weathered from limestone. Clay particles are tiny and pack together tightly under mowers, foot traffic and construction equipment. Once packed, water runs off instead of soaking in.

How do I know what grass I have?
